You may find Sargam notations of your favorite songs here!  We have written hundreds of notations of songs in variety of languages as categorised below.  Click on the song title to view the complete sargam notations.  These notations are easy to play on any instrument including, Flute, Guitar, Harmonica, Harmonium, Violin, Piano, Melodica, Saxophone, Sitar, etc., etc.

Notations written as per Indian Classical Music system is called Sargam which is an acronym for Sa, Re, Ga, Ma. This page contains list of free SARGAM notations for hundreds of songs and tunes which can be played on instruments like, Flute, Harmonium, Harmonica/Mouth-organ, Violin, Guitar, Keyboard, etc.  You may, however, have to improvise a little bit to play them correctly on your instruments.  My advice however would be to not depend on anybody for notations. Write notations on your own. Yes, like me who has not taken any formal training in music, you can also do it. Click here to know how.

How to read SARGAM
  • CAPITAL LETTERS = Shuddh Swars (Natural Notes)
  • small letters = Komal Swars (Flat Notes)
  • M with # [hash] or ^ [exponent] = Tivra Madhyam (M# / M^)
  • Letter/Alphabet ONLY = Medium Pitch/Normal blow on flute
  • Letter/Alphabet PRECEDED BY a ” . ” [full stop] or  a ” , ” [comma] = Low Octave Note/Softer blow on flute
  • Letter/Alphabet FOLLOWED BY a ‘ [single quote] = High Octave Note/harder blow on flute
  • Notes in { } = “murki” have to be played very fast without any pause
  • A Note in ( ) = “kann swar” has to be just touched before moving on to the next note
  • A “~” between two Notes  = “meend”. That is, you have to glide from one note to another slowly to produce that wavy effect.
  • Few “….” (dots) after a note = Play and hold that note
