Singer : Amit Kumar,
Lyricist : Anand Bakshi
Music : Rahul Dev Burman
Movie : Teri Kasam (1982)

Flute used for notations : E Bass

Magical composition of RDB and sweet rendition by Amit Kumar. This is an all time favourite song and as fresh as it was 30 years ago.

Except Komal Nishad (n) and at just one or two place Komal Rishabh (r), the following notations contain all Shuddh swars. There is a subtle difference in the 5th lines of each of the 3 Antaras for which I have specifically written down the notations. I have also written down the notations for interlude music pieces in detail which is hard to find anywhere on the internet.

Hope you will find these easy to play on your instruments.

I have also made a video tutorial of this song which you can follow at link beneath notations.

How to read SARGAM
  • CAPITAL LETTERS Shuddh Swars (Natural Notes)
  • small letters Komal Swars (Flat Notes)
  • with # [hash] or ^ [exponent] = Tivra Madhyam (M# / M^)
  • Letter/Alphabet ONLY = Medium Pitch/Normal blow on flute
  • Letter/Alphabet PRECEDED BY a ” . ” [full stop] or  a ” , ” [comma] = Low Octave Note/Softer blow on flute
  • Letter/Alphabet FOLLOWED BY a ‘ [single quote] = High Octave Note/harder blow on flute
  • Notes in { } “murki” have to be played very fast without any pause
  • A Note in ( ) “kann swar” has to be just touched before moving on to the next note
  • A “~” between two Notes  = “meend”. That is, you have to glide from one note to another slowly to produce that wavy effect.
  • Few “….” (dots) after a note = Play and hold that note
