- Letter/Alphabet ONLY = Medium Pitch/Normal blow on flute
- Letter/Alphabet PRECEDED BY a ” . ” [full stop] or a ” , ” [comma] = Low Octave Note/Softer blow on flute
- Letter/Alphabet FOLLOWED BY a ‘ [single quote] = High Octave Note/harder blow on flute
- Notes in { } = “murki” have to be played very fast without any pause
- A Note in ( ) = “kann swar” has to be just touched before moving on to the next note
- A “~” between two Notes = “meend”. That is, you have to glide from one note to another slowly to produce that wavy effect.
- Few “….” (dots) after a note = Play and hold that note

There is a small mistake in these notes. For the lines in the first stanza Dehleez Pe, Jo Rakhe Hain, Tere Naam Pe, and in the second stanza O Aasmaan Mila, the notation shouls be G P~D P~D and not GP P~D P~D. Only the line Aadhe Aadhe in the second stanza has that extra P for emphasis. This extra P note is meant to add to the beauty of the song in that place by contrasting it with the other lines. Other than that, your notes are great and I refer to them often!

Assuming that you mean ‘Higher Octave’ by “#” sign, these notes S#, D#, N# can be played with blowing a little harder. Consider doing this – blow into the flute as if you would blow to cool down a spoon of hot soup. Try it and if you succeed share your feedback. Good luck!

what is the meaning of brackets in first line? what is the difference between N and N’ ?

Notes within brackets need to be played fast without any break.
N = Shuddh Ni on normal octave
N’ = Shuddh Ni on higher octave
.N = Shuddh Ni on lower octave
