- CAPITAL LETTERS = Shuddh Swars (Natural Notes)
- small letters = Komal Swars (Flat Notes)
- M with # [hash] or ^ [exponent] = Tivra Madhyam (M# / M^)
- Letter/Alphabet ONLY = Medium Pitch/Normal blow on flute
- Letter/Alphabet PRECEDED BY a ” . ” [full stop] or a ” , ” [comma] = Low Octave Note/Softer blow on flute
- Letter/Alphabet FOLLOWED BY a ‘ [single quote] = High Octave Note/harder blow on flute
- Notes in { } = “murki” have to be played very fast without any pause
- A Note in ( ) = “kann swar” has to be just touched before moving on to the next note
- A “~” between two Notes = “meend”. That is, you have to glide from one note to another slowly to produce that wavy effect.
- Few “….” (dots) after a note = Play and hold that note

Another thing you can play by learning these: (1)Om Purnamadah Purnamidam, (2)Om Sahana Vavatu, (3)Yom Pa Pushpam Vedam, (4)Om Asato Ma Sadagamaya, (5)Gyananandamayam Devam and a few other songs too which use only these 3 notes as mark said

i have query S TO M (SRGM) & P TO S (PDNS) FLOW is easy n quick. But how to jump M to P or P to M?? is there any trick??its difficult to jump one to another in continuous streaming.

We talk in Middle octave
We shout in Higher octave
We murmur in Lower octave
While playing flute when we normally blow, we play in middle octave.
When we play with more force, we play high octave.
When we play with soft air pressure, we play low octave

This is Anubhav. I dont have much knowledge about music. I have purchased a bamboo flute from local vendor. He gave it to me saying for beginner. It’s written there FF on flute. It has a blowing hole and six music holes. Seventh hole is not there.
It will be nice if you can help me identify the first note of my flute,i.e., SA, present on which music hole.

Closing only the top 3 holes with your fingers and blowing gently into the blowing hole produces SA on Bansuri.

I use full stop or comma before a letter to denote Lower Octave. Thanks.
