I play flute even while I'm asleep!
“I get little time to practice as I am into a private job. So, when I go to sleep I take my flute along with me and just practice finger movements without blowing and making sound, lest, others get disturbed. One thing that I believe is that only practice can me me perfect and I am on to it…”

“The next thing that I love after my life is my Flute. I am still trying to get hold of it by watching various tutorials on the internet. I do a private job and hence get very little time to practice. So, when I go to sleep I take my flute along with me and just silently practice finger movements without blowing and making sound, lest, others get disturbed. I keep practicing with many rhythm apps. I prefer practicing my flute over partying with my friends.
Let me tell you my story. When I was a child, I used to go to a fair and see Banshi (Bamboo Flute) sellers. Once I bought a flute and had a lot of fun. I didn’t know then that I had to learn it too. I used to randomly play some melody. I used to try and pick up a tune that I liked. If I could play even 2-3% of it on my own I used to feel good. But I never practiced regularly. My relationship with flute was very irregular like once in a months or even years.
I am 40 years old. Now About 13/14 years ago, It suddenly thought to me to learn to play it. ‘Practice makes your perfect’. These word are 100% true and I memorized them and started practice. I used to try my best to master it by watching various tutorials and tutorials on the internet. A few days later my self-confidence continued to grow. And I became regular. I would feel an emptiness if I didn’t play the flute. I carry my flute everywhere. But I didn’t get time, didn’t get a good teacher. I do a job I don’t have time to myself, but I still hold on to my flute.
In one of the groups I was playing the flute and one of them commented and wrote to me, “You play a good flute. You can take part in the Instrumental contest organized by Notes and Sargam.” I went to Notes and sargam and saw my favorite website and took part in it with great confidence. It was a great experience for me to take part in this event organized by notes and sargam. Let the organizers know my love. You have accelerated my will power. Gave me social recognition. What could be bigger than this? About a year ago I went to Google to search for a song. I found ‘notesandsargam.com’. I am very happy to find such a website. I’m surprised.
For those who want to learn music, I am telling from my personal experience that the first thing that needs to be captured is to learning to believe in yourself. And to think of it as a journey.

আমার জিবনের পর যেটাকে সবচেয়ে ভালবাসি সেটা হছছে আমার বাশি। আমি অনেক দিন ধরেই ইন্টারনেটে বাশির বিভিন্ন লেসন এবং টিউটোরিয়াল দেখে এটাকে নিজের দখলে আনার আপ্রান চেষ্টা করে চলেছি। আমি একটি জব করি তাছাড়া আমার সংসার আছে আমার প্রাক্টিস করার কোন সময় থাকে না অনেক ক্লান্তি নিয়েও রাতে যখন বিছানায় জায় তখন শুধু ফিংগারিং করি সাইলেন্ট ভাবে জাতে আর কারো ডিস্টার্ব না হয়। রিদম এর অনেক app play করে আমি রিদাম এর সাথে প্রাক্টিস করি। যখনই সময় পায় কোথাও বন্ধু দের সাথে আড্ডা না দিয়ে সেই সময় টুকু বাশি সাথে কাটায়। আমার অফিস টাইম ৯ঃ৩০ am/৬ঃ৩০ pm এবং আমি যে জব করি এটা বেসরকারি। আমাকে টেকনিক্যল কাজ করতে হয় । আমার প্রায় সবটুকু মেধা শ্রম এই কোম্পানি কে দিয়ে দিতে হয়। নিজের বলে আর কিছু থাকেনা অবশিষ্ট যতটুকু সময় থাকে সেটা আমার বাশির জন্য দিই।
সেরা আমাকে হতেই হবে। সবাই আমাকে চিনবে এর জন্য ও আমি বাশি বাজাই না আমি বাজায় আমার নিজের জন্য। বাশির মধ্যে কি আছে আমি দেখতে চাই। এবং আমি সঠিক প্রাক্টিস করছি কি না,এজন্যই আপনাদের এই প্রোগ্রামে অংশ গ্রহণ করে নিজেকে একটু যাচাই করতে চেয়েছিলাম মাত্র। তাছাড়া আমার ফেসবুক প্রফাইল গেলেও আপনারা দেখে নিতে পারবেন। আমি কতটা প্রফেশনাল। নিজে নিজে মোবাইলে রেকর্ড করে মোবাইল দিয়ে এডিট করা কিছু ভিডিও ক্লিপ ছাড়া কিছুই নাই। পরিশেষে একটি কথায় বলব আমি প্রফেশনাল flute player নয়, কিন্তু আমি জানি এবং বাজাতে পারি। কারন বাশিই আমার নেশা।
এবার একটু পিছনের গল্প বলি, ছোট বেলায় কোন মেলাতে গেলে বাশি বিক্রি করতে দেখলে আমার খুব ভাল লাগত। আমি বাশি কিনতাম। এবং খুব মজা পেতাম। এটা যে শিখতে হয় এটি তখন আমি জানতাম না। তখন যেটা করতাম,মনে একটা গানের সুর আসলে সেটা বাজানোর চেষ্টা করতাম প্রায় দেখা যেত আমি যেই সুরটা তুলতে চাছছি সেটি ২℅ – ৩℅ যদি আমি তুলতে পারতাম নিজের কাছে একটা ভালো লাগা অনুভব করতাম। কিন্তু আমি কখনোই নিয়মিত চর্চা করতাম না। বাশির সাথে আমার সম্পর্ক হত মাসে অথবা বছরে।
এখন আমার বয়স ৪০+ এখন থেকে প্রায় ১৩/১৪ বছর আগে, হঠাৎ মাথায় আসলো এটা তো আমাকে বাজানো শিখতেই হবে। Practice makes you perfect. এই কথাটি ১০০% মনে ধারণ করে Practice শুরু করলাম। আমি ইন্টারনেটে বাশির বিভিন্ন লেসন এবং টিউটোরিয়াল দেখে এটাকে নিজের দখলে আনার আপ্রান চেষ্টা করতাম কিছু দিন পরে আমার আত্নবিশ্বাস আরও বাড়তে থাকল। এবং নিয়মিত হলাম। বাশি না বাজালে আমি একটি অপূর্ণতা অনুভব করতাম। সম্পুর্ণ প্রতিকুল পরিবেশ এর মধ্যেই আমাকে বাশি নিয়ে চলতে হয়েছে এবং এখনো চলছি। না পেয়েছি সময় না পেয়েছি ভাল শিক্ষক। আমি একটি জব করি । নিজের বলতে কোন সময় থাকে না তবুও বাশী টাকে ধরে আছি এবং যত দিন বেচে আছি এটি নিয়েই থাকতে চাই।
প্রায় এক বছর আগে আমি গুগলে একটি গান সারচ করতে গিয়ে। আপনাদের ওয়েবসাইট এর সন্ধান পাই। এমন একটি ওয়েবসাইট এর সন্ধান পাওয়া তে আমি খুবই
আন্দত হই।
কোন এক গ্রুপে একজন বাশি বাজাছিলেন এবং একজন কমেন্ট করে তাকে লিখেছিলেন আপনি তো ভাল বাশি বাজান Notes and sargam এর আয়োজন এ Instrumental contest চলছে আপনি চাইলে অংশ গ্রহণ করতে পারেন। আমি তখন Notes and sargam এ গিয়ে আমার প্রিয় ওয়েবসাইট টা দেখে খুব ভাল লাগলো এবং খুবই আত্মবিশ্বাস এর সাথে অংশ গ্রহণ করলাম।
notes and sargam আয়োজিত এই অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ গ্রহণ করে আমার খুব ভাল এটি অভিজ্ঞতা তৈরি হলো। আয়োজক দেরকে জানায় আমার প্রান ভরা ভালবাসা। আপনারা আমার ইচ্ছে শক্তিকে আরও বেগবান করেছেন। আমাকে সামাজিক স্বীকৃতি দিয়েছেন। এটার চেয়ে বড় আর কি হতে পারে?
যারা মিউজিক শিখতে চান তাদের জন্য আমার বেক্তি গত অভিজ্ঞতা থেকেই বলছি। প্রথম যে কথাটি ধারন করতে হবে সেটি হলো নিজের উপর বিশাস করতে শেখা। যে আমি পারব। এবং এটিকে একটি journey মনে করা।
