If you grew up watching Bollywood in the ’90s, “Tip Tip Barsa Pani” from Mohra is probably a core memory. The rain, the sizzling chemistry between Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar, and that iconic yellow saree — it’s a song that refuses to fade. But like every classic, it comes with its own set of stories.

First off, did you know Raveena was a bit skeptical about doing the song? Yep! While we all saw her confidently setting the screen on fire, she initially had her doubts. The bold, sensuous vibe wasn’t exactly what she was comfortable with. In fact, she had a clear “no” for anything that crossed her boundaries — no kissing, no removing the saree. Respect to her for sticking to her principles while still delivering one of Bollywood’s most memorable rain songs.

Now, here’s a fun twist. Young Ranveer Singh, before becoming the Bollywood powerhouse he is today, was once shooed away from the set! Imagine little Ranveer, all curious, sneaking around only to be told, “Beta, not this scene!” Raveena herself once recalled how it was a bit too steamy for kids, so the future superstar had to wait a few years to catch it on TV like the rest of us.

The shoot itself wasn’t all glamorous though. That drenched, rain-soaked look came at a cost. The set was a literal construction site with sharp rocks and nails scattered around. And Raveena? She danced barefoot, braved the chills, and even ended up with a fever. Talk about dedication!

And of course, years later, the song got a modern revamp in Sooryavanshi, with Katrina Kaif stepping into those iconic shoes. While the recreated version had its own charm, let’s be real — the nostalgia of the original is unbeatable. Raveena graciously gave her blessings for the remake, but for us ’90s kids, that original “Tip Tip Barsa Pani” will always reign supreme.

  • A “~” between two Notes  = “meend”. That is, you have to glide from one note to another slowly to produce that wavy effect.
  • Few “….” (dots) after a note = Play and hold that note
