Who Can Participate

Amateur, Non-Professional, Musicians Over 12 Years Of Age

Anyone can participate in this Instrumental Music Contest, provided that he/she:

  • Should be over 12 years of age (as on 01st October 2022).  There is no maximum age limit. (Your date of birth certificate may be demanded by us, if needed).
  • Should not be a professional artist who performs for a living.

How To Participate

Send a 60-Second Video Recording

  • Fill up the Registration Form at the bottom of this page.
  • Make payment of Registration Fee
  • Record your 01-minute video, playing any one film song, folk song, ghazal, bhajan or Raag bandish of your choice on your instrument. You may check out the songs listed on this site.
  • Send it through Whatsapp only to +91-9013921743 as “[Song/Tune’s  Title (space) Instrument Name (space) Full Name (space) Sex/Age (space) Place] Example: Sholay Theme Harmonica Sunny Mathur F/36 Mumbai.
  • Your entry should reach us before 23:59 hrs, 25th Sep 2022.

What can you send

As an entry for your participation, you can record and send one of the following:

  • A Film Song
  • A Folk Song
  • A Bhajan
  • A Ghazal
  • A Raag/Bandish

Disqualification

Your participation in this Instrumental Music Contest will be cancelled under following circumstances:

  • If your video is not a live recording.
  • If your video has been recorded in a studio.
  • If your face is clearly not visible in the video.
  • If your entry is received after cut-off date/s.
  • If you use different phone numbers to send multiple recordings.
  • If information provided by you is found to be incorrect.
  • If you do not make payment of registration fee.

Selection Process

Performance & Challenge

In the Entry Round, out of all the entries received on or before 23:59 hrs 25th Sep 2022, top 25 entries will be shortlisted for the Performance round.  List of Top 25 Musicians will be displayed on this website on 30th Sep 2022. Intimation will be sent to the winners of this round through WhatsApp messages on their registered mobile numbers.

Next, in Performance Round, the Top 25 Musicians will be asked to play and record any of the songs from a particular list on their instruments. A list of songs will be uploaded on this website by 5th Oct 2022. Musicians will be required to record any of these songs for a maximum of 120 seconds and forward those to +919013921743 only through WhatsApp before 00:00 hrs 09th Oct 2022.

From the Performance Round, Top 10 Musicians out of 25, will be shortlisted for Judges’ Round. Their names will be displayed on this website on 13th Oct 2022.

Finally, in the Judges’ Round on 15th October 2022 the top 10 Musicians will have to perform (through Video Conference) on two challenges first will be a song of their choice and second will be a song given by the Judges on the spot. Participants will be given 01-hour to prepare, record and send their performances. Combined average score of these two performances will decide the winners.

Decision of the Judges will be final and binding on all participants of this Instrumental Music Contest.

Winners

Based on the performances in the Judges’ Round, top 3 winners of this Instrumental Music Contest will be declared on 16th October 2022

Prizes shall be credited into their Bank Accounts. 

Digital Certificates shall be sent to them by emails.  

Public felicitation of the Winners will be done at an event in Delhi (date shall be intimated in due course).

Success story of the Winner shall be published in this website and in CSR TIMES / ACHIEVERS’ WORLD magazine.

Performance videos of the winners shall be uploaded on our official YouTube channel.

Winners’ profiles shall be posted on our official Facebook and Instagram pages.

Who Are The Judges for this Instrumental Music Contest

nilanjan

Sh. Nilanjan Sengupta

An exemplary musician who is deft at playing Tabla, Drums, Dholak, Djembe, Duff, Keyboard, Harmonium Nilanjan Sengupta is also a music composer, and a teacher.  He has been pursuing professional music for over two decades now.  He also regularly performs at India’s national TV channel Doordarshan.  

A Sangeet Visharad in Indian Classical Music from Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, he has been performing in India, Greece, China, Bangladesh, along with renowned music maestros like, Richa Sharma (Mumbai), Ashwini Bhide (Mumbai), Kamalini Mukherji (USA), Shama Rehman (Bangladesh), Bulbul Islam (Bangladesh), Supratik Das (Kolkata), Shounak Chattopadhyay (Kolkata), Sultana Chowdhury (Bangladesh), Soumik Pal (Kolkata), Joydeb Chatterjee (Kolkata), Riddhi Banerjee (Kolkata), Sagnik Sen (Kolkata) and many others. 

Presently, he teaches Percussions at Delhi Public School, NOIDA.

A disciple of Pt. Rupak Kulkarni who is one of the leading Flautists in Mumbai music industry, SantAkshat is a promising and passionate Flutist

SantAkshat has performed live with celebrities Like Javed Ali, Sudesh Bhosle, Jolly Mukherjee, Sanjeevani Bhelande, Anandji (Kalyanji Anandji), Kailash Kher, Suresh Wadkar, Viju Shah, Annu Kapoor (Golden Era With Annu Kapoor), Rajesh Roshan, etc.   SantAkshat contributes in famous Music Companies like, Tips, Saregama, Shemaroo, Venus, T-Series and many more.  He also plays Flute for movies, TV Serials, Albums, and Commercials ads.  He does Live Concerts, Shows, Events such as, Musical Reality Shows, Mega Corporate Shows, etc.  

An exemplary Flutist who is deft at playing Bollywood songs on flute. He keeps sharing tips on how to play flute and, songs on flute through his YouTube Channel which is very popular among the flute players.  His YouTube channel has over 15k subscribers as on date.

Pandit Dinesh Kumar Flutist

Pt. Dinesh Kumar 

A well known Flute Player, born in the family of traditional Flute players of Banaras, Pt.Dinesh Kumar started receiving his training in flute, from an early age under the expert guidance of his father Pt. Shiv Nath Prasad ji (his father and Guruji) and Pt. Amar Nath ji (his elder brother and Guruji) and his uncle and Guruji Pt. Anant Lal ji (a well known Shehnai Player). 

He has inherited his art from his own family tradition (Banaras Gharana) which is nearly four centuries old and which has produced some of the great flutist of India. He has participated many a times in almost all the famous music conferences in India like ICCR, Sangeet Natak Academy, Sahitya Kala Parishad. He also has performed in National Program of Doordarshan Kendra, C.P.0 Doordarshan Kendra and Akashawani.

He has travelled in many countries like Holland, West China, Germany, England, Switzerland, U.S.A., Japan, Russia, Korea, Thailand, Australia, Hong Kong, Taipei, London, Paris, France, Saudi Arab etc. 

Has done shows with many legendary singers like Bupinder-Mitali, Pankaj Udas, Jagjit Singh, Hariharan, Kavita Seth, etc. He plays Solo with many fusion groups all over the world.

Pt. Dinesh Kumar is a very well known Music Director/Composer of the music industry.  He has worked with H.M.V, TIPS, VENUS, T-SERIES, UINIVERSAL, etc.. and has composed music for many hit albums and songs in many languages Like HINDI, PUNJABI, DEVOTIONAL SONGS, GARHWALI, KUMAUNI ETC.
